Family Channel welcomes its newest addition, Disney Channel’s GLC!

TORONTO, April 21 /CNW/ – Astral Media’s Family Channel proudly introduces Canadians to Good Luck Charlie – a sitcom for the whole family that revolves around what happens when a new baby joins the Duncan household and roles shift for everyone in the family. Family Channel will air two back-to-back episodes of the Disney Channel comedy series Good Luck Charlie beginning at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Friday, May 14. The regular timeslot for the series is Fridays at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

In Good Luck Charlie, the Duncan family, including teen siblings PJ and Teddy and tween brother Gabe, welcomes their newest addition, Charlie, and the many adjustments she brings to the household. Charlie’s soon sitting up, crawling, walking and running – requiring the kids to team up and help their parents, Bob and Amy, look after the cute little newcomer. In each episode Teddy creates a personalized video diary for Charlie, an older sister telling her baby sister about all the things she’ll help her learn as she grows up, including how to withstand the household and deal with friends, boys and school.

Good Luck Charlie stars Bridgit Mendler (Wizards of Waverly Place), Jason Dolley (Cory in the House), Bradley Steven Perry, Leigh-Allyn Baker (Will & Grace), Eric Allan Kramer (My Name Is Earl, The Hughleys, Robin Hood: Men in Tights) and newcomer Mia Talerico as Charlie. The creative team includes several network sitcom veterans led by series creators Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen (Suddenly Susan and What I Like About You), who also serve as executive producers with Dan Staley (Cheers, Love & Money).

In the premiere episode, Study Date, airing Friday, May 14 at 7 p.m. ET/PT, Amy is fretting as she returns to work, but Bob reassures her that they have a support system to care for Charlie. That is until Teddy is distracted by a study session with a cute classmate, PJ tries to have a jam session with his friend, Gabe acts as though his territory has been invaded and Bob takes a tumble. This debut episode is currently being previewed on Family OnDemand.

In Baby Come Back, airing Friday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT, Teddy encourages Amy and Bob to go on a long overdue date while the kids babysit Charlie. When PJ takes Charlie to the park, he accidentally swaps strollers and babies with a cute girl.

Leading up the introduction of the Duncan family, Family presents family-themed episodes of Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place and JONAS beginning at 6 p.m. ET/PT on Friday, May 14.

Bridgit Mendler & Victoria Justice: The Next Big Things

You may already know who Bridgit Mendler and Victoria Justice are…but get ready for them to be the next big things.

In an article posted by AP, the two teen actresses are highlighted along with their new shows and their rise to stardom.

Bridgit, who auditioned for the role of Sonny on SWAC (back when it was still Welcome to Mollywood), now has her own show, Good Luck Charlie, after guesting on Wizards of Waverly Place.

Gary Marsh, president of entertainment for Disney Channels Worldwide says, “Bridgit is a great example of … us finding somebody, knowing that we wanted to do business with her and then waiting to find the perfect role.”

Victoria, also 17, now headlines Victorious on Nickelodeon. Creator Dan Schneider shared, “You could tell from the first five seconds of the tape … she was just meant to be in front of a camera.”

Fanlala Interviews

Good Luck Charlie, Episode 2, Premiered on Disney Channel, Starring Bridgit Mendler, Jason Dolley

Episode 2 of the teen sitcom Good Luck Charlie premiered on the Disney Channel Sunday night with Bridgit Mendler as the oldest sister Teddy and Jason Dolley starring as the oldest
sibling PJ. In this new Disney Channel show, Charlie (Mia Talerico) gets switched at the park with another baby due to the carelessness of her big brother PJ. Episode 2 of Good Luck Charlie saw more cute one-liners and zanyness from the Duncan family. In addition, there was more references to the waste elimination functions of babies.

Good Luck Charlie, Episode 2, Saw Charlie go Missing on the Disney Channel Program Starring Bridgit Mendler and Jason Dolley

Parents Amy (Leigh-Allyn Baker) and Bob (Eric Allan Kramer) are “going off the deep end” talking baby talk continuously, so Teddy suggests that the two have a “date night”, volunteering herself and brothers PJ and Gabe (Bradley Steven Perry) to help take care of the baby for a few hours. PJ takes Charlie to the park, and starts flirting with a girl named Emma, who’s got her baby brother with her, and whose stroller matches the one 9 month old Charlie is in. Meanwhile, Gabe tries to impress his sister with magic tricks, but he’s no good at it. When PJ arrives home, he realizes he has Emma’s brother, and the “expletive” almost hits the fan when Amy calls wanting to hear Charlie’s voice, so the Bridgit Mendler character talks baby talk to try to deceive her mother on Good Luck Charlie, Episode 2. PJ tried to call Emma, but the number he got was for a Chinese restaurant.

PJ, Gabe, and Teddy go back to the park and look for Charlie, and even enlist the help of an oafish and out of shape park entertainer named Captain Stretchee (who PJ interacted with earlier), who’ll help if he gets his palms “greased.” He tells the trio that he’s entertained for Emma’s big family, and that she lives nearby, so they go driving around trying to find Emma and the baby on Episode 2 of Good Luck Charlie, without success. The Jason Dolley character laments his dimwittedness, but Teddy says that they’re all in this together.
