Bridgit Mendler & Jason Dolley: Welcome to the World, Charlie

In the upcoming episode “Charlie is 1,” On Charlie’s (Mia Telerico) first birthday, the Duncan family reminisces about the day she was born, including flashbacks to Bob (Eric Allan Kramer) and PJ’s (Jason Dolley) near-miss with a bear in the woods, Gabe (Bradley Steven Perry) being accidentally left home alone, and Teddy (Mendler) – dressed as Frankenstein – having to track down the family doctor.

“Charlie is 1? premieres Sunday, May 23 @ 8:30PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.

Chatting with Access Hollywood

Well at least the Disney Channel has gotten some eyeballs on its family-friendly show “Good Luck Charlie.” The numbers are fantastic and the show’s star Bridgit Mendler is set to become another Disney darling along the lines of Miley, Selena and Demi.

“It’s so flattering to have been given that title,” Bridgit told me when I chatted with her on set. “I mean, I would like to be my own person within that and I think through the process of going through Disney, you become your own person and you find our own niche and that’s something that they are really good at.”

Like her predecessors, she is a singer but has no plans to put an album out just yet.

“I’ve been working on it a little bit — putting together some of the songs that I have written, but I want to take it slow and make sure that its something thats really me.”
